Handloom workers seek steps to protect Bhavani Jamakkalam industry
The Bhavani District Handloom Jamakkalam, Bedsheet Weavers and Dyeing Workers’ Union demanded revision of basic wage, which, it said, had remained unchanged for 32 years. It also sought ban on illegal powerlooms.
