Ethanol-diesel blending may not be viable, tests flag sharp drop in flash point
Recent tests indicate that blending ethanol with diesel is not a viable option, as there is a significant decrease in flash points. In response, the government is investigating the use of ethanol as a cleaner cooking fuel to lessen dependency on LPG imports. Oil retailers have assessed the potential for ethanol-diesel blending through their dedicated research centers.
