Leptospirosis mortality spirals up in Kerala
Kerala has reported 49 deaths—30 confirmed to be due to leptospirosis and 19 suspected cases—in the month of July, 2026 alone. There have been 1,381 confirmed and 922 probable cases of leptospirosis so far in 2026 with total deaths of 115, including 52 probable leptospirosis deaths
