Relief for automakers as Centre proposes easy easing emission compliance testing regime
The road transport ministry proposes changes to emission compliance testing for vehicle manufacturers. New passenger cars and two-wheelers will undergo annual testing for three years after approval. Larger vehicles will continue with annual emission compliance testing. Existing models will see testing frequency reduced to once every three years. This move aims to reduce compliance burdens and improve ease of doing business.
