Ex-top Chhattisgarh official behind paper leaks, appointed kin as deputy collector, DSP: ED

Taman Singh Sonwani, a retired IAS officer, faces custodial remand for alleged CGPSC paper leak. He allegedly amended recruitment rules in 2021 to benefit his family members. Sonwani appointed relatives as deputy collector and DSP after rule changes. The Enforcement Directorate arrested the former CGPSC chairperson on July 25. A special court granted seven days of ED custody for further investigation.
